The second volume in RCA's Jazz at Midnight series continues in the mood of its predecessor, compiling 14 smooth, sultry tracks designed for romantic, after-hours listening. Despite the rather shallow designs of the disc, it offers a number of quality performances, among them Duke Ellington's "Isfahan," Gerry Mulligan's "My Funny Valentine," Sonny Rollins' "Where Are You?" and Coleman Hawkins' "I Surrender, Dear." ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
